In this tutorial you will learn on how to paint tree trunk with textures using gesso and palette knife in step by step easy and basic acrylic painting tutorial for beginners. In the process, you will need to add the gesso while it has no paint yet but you can also add it even if there is some background paints. Unlike the acrylic gels, you cannot mix gesso to paints if you want to create darker tones because it will lighten the color, it is possible only if you are mixing lighter colors. Is it Gesso or texture paste as all Gesso I have seen is much more liquid than that?
The Grumbacher brand is thicker. You can also use modeling paste.
it's actually the same... you can create textures without flattening

around $10 to $20 with that size.. you can buy smaller and cheaper...

yes Carol... most carpenters use it also. Some of the artist here in my country use it to prime their canvasses... not sure if other artists outside the country would accept it as an alternative.. thanks again Carol
