  4. thanks John for sharing such a helpful video…would you tell me if I use students acrylic istead of artist acrylic colour will there be any difference between the both and ya lots of love and thanks from India

    • you’re welcome… If you are still practicing then I recommend student grade acrylics to save your expenses because artist grade is much expensive and the difference is that the pigments of student grade are lesser… anyway I am also using student grade like liquitex basics and reeves.

  5. can you please explain the preparation you do on the canvas before painting? is it just a new canvas or are you coating it with white or something before you start?

    • I made my own canvas and it has 3 coats of primed gesso or sometimes white acrylic.

    • different sizes… from smaller to medium and big size…. numbers #0, 4, 7 and 1 inch flat brush

    • you’re welcome Loretta… I used water for acrylics.. thinner is for oils…

  19. I think I wasted $200 on buying oil paints if I can paint using acrylic. you just need technique

    • you can also use oil paints for this painting. It’s almost the same technique.
