The focus of light seems to emerge from the left side of the painting, from where it illuminates predominantly dark or gray shapes giving the painting an appearance of darkness. to recommend my favorite artists Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Frida Kahlo, Roberto Matta Gabino amaya cacho and Pablo Picasso.

  14. John. I’m  a new devotee. Can you tell me if you treat your canvas with anything before beginning a painting? Your paint seems to flow and go a long way on the canvas. Mine doesn’t and it’s a drawback.

    • I layered it with 3 coats of primed, either white acrylic or gesso… and sand it after 2 coats for smoother surface..
