Hi John, this an awesome painting of the Kingfisher bird, there are plenty of them in the UK, they dive for fish and sometimes they can come up with a fish about the same size as the bird, the are very fast on the dive and rarely miss a fish. anyway, you have represented this bird beautifully and also the rest of the painting, you are an awesome guy and I look forward to many of your great tutorials.

I have just had a go at this one and my background was ok, but I trashed the bird, it is a mess, with colors all over the place, anyway I shall try again, or maybe touch it up a little.

This is my second tutorial with you and I must admit i was nervous because it wasn’t shall I say an Exact duplicate of what you are doing. It’s teaching me how to paint with less exact colors and less exact direction. I thought my palette would be a miss but it wasn’t. The end result could have been better if I knew the background would not be changed at all. The light where it comes in, you should say ok yes it’s all blurry but the blue will be trees, yellow is light coming through, the waterfall will show just as is etc. especially the water, i assumed you would explain how to make it look like yours. It’s showing entirely yet it looks nothing like yours. Or like any waterfall i have ever seen.
