  7. why is that your colors blend so beautifully and when i do a single stroke and after 15 sec it gets dried and when i try to blend it , it looks like another layer( btw i m not using a canvas and actually doing it on a A3 drawing sheets) :(

    • It’s okay… just let it dry and add another layer… you don’t have to blend it from time to time…

  9. oh my. thank you. I just did my 1st acrylic piece yesterday & I fell in love w it. I usually work w watercolors. I went to get some canvas boards today @ hobby lobby & they had a set of 48 -22ml tubes of Liquitex Basics for…$17.99. (I may go back tomorrow & get 2 more for my grandchildren.) I am going to try this ASAP. I’m simply amazed at how 3D the koi look. will keep you posted. thanks again for your time

  10. I wonder if I can do this technique with gouache and watercolor too ? i’m starting a koi watercolor piece and I don’t know how to color the background of it

    • You can do this in water color.. but the technique would be different.. you can start from light to dark

  14. hey, I tried an underwater painting… after watching yours. though where I live we got crystal clear water. but I think I did pretty good. Learning every day… :-)
