  2. John, I have just found you on YouTube and Sunrise Beach is your first tutorial I am trying. I have been painting a little over a year now, mostly following tutorials. I love ocean and wave pictures and they are pretty much the only scenes I feel comfortable painting on my own. I am almost done completing my version of your tutorial. I can’t tell you enough how much I like the results so far. I have learned so much along the way. I can’t wait to finish this and then try your other tutorials. Thank you very much.

    • you’re welcome Dale… I am glad you are learning from it. Thank you very much for following. Paint more. :)

  3. You have such an uncomplicated way of demonstrating your painting tutorials. The instructions and details concerning the paints needed, brushes, etc. makes it all so easy to follow and duplicate. Knowing you are a self taught artist, it surely aspires me to keep practicing the techniques so that maybe, just maybe, I’ll be able to paint these beautiful pieces some where close to your style. Thanks so much for sharing your awesome talent here with us, John!

    • you’re welcome… thank you very much Mary.. It’s not hard and I know you can do it. Just believe in yourself and keep painting… :)

  15. Another winner! And thanks for the info about how to download the painting for a template. Did you say that using a pencil instead of the burnt sienna paint for a bottom sketch is okay? Thanks.

    • you’re welcome… thank you very much Linda… Yes you can use pencil but chalk is better… I will try to use chalk on my next videos. You can easily erase it and it won’t be visible after layers of thin paint.
