  7. I dont recommend you try painting a shark of any kind. Sharks are very territorial and will bite. They have been known to kill. Try painting something else for sure, but not a shark.

    • @Art of John Magne Lisondra I agree with you whole heartedly that man has killed more sharks than vice versa. But I still think painting them is a dangerous hobby. Not to mention cruel. Imagine painting a boy shark pink for example? His mates would absolutely ridicule him for that.

    • Sharks have important rules in nature… And people killed more sharks than sharks to people…

  8. Welchen Zweck hatte die braune Farbe zu Beginn der Arbeit am Hai?

  9. Beautiful work I like how you used different tones to give depth and dynamic range

  10. Quick question… I’m not an artist in anyway, so I’m simply curious. But does anyone know the reason they did the brown at first instead of leaving it blank until ready to paint it in? Again, not an artist, simply asking out of curiosity

  18. Under water, certain wavelengths of light don’t appear the deeper you go. This is caused by the attribute of light that causes it to bend when it enters a denser medium.

Though purple is definitely a choice for contrast, I suspect that it would be the perceived visible color. At the surface, the shark may be brown, but deeper, the yellow would dissappear. Because it has a short wavelength, it would bend most acutely and wouldn’t make it as far down. And since brown consists of a mixture of red, yellow, and blue, we would see the red and blue spectrums, which have a longer wavelengths. Thus, we would see purple.

Td;lr This artist understands the intricacies of light and shadow, and I love it!

  19. What’s wrong with the music? This is like the second worst rendition of baby shark I have ever heard.
